Review by hotel critic
The hotel, while clean and well-organized, seemed to lack certain modern amenities that would have enhanced the overall guest experience. On the positive side, the service at Merlewood was top-notch. Breakfast, though limited in options, was delicious and the chef and waitresses were all friendly and accommodating. It was evident that the staff truly cared about the guests and their experience at the hotel. In terms of facilities, the hotel boasted a seasonal outdoor pool which, while not heated, was clean and inviting. the pool area was well-maintained and provided a peaceful setting for relaxation. the beach access from the hotel was convenient, allowing guests easy access to the beautiful Saundersfoot beach. However, I did notice some areas where the hotel fell short. the absence of a table lamp and bedside cabinet in the room also made it difficult to comfortably enjoy downtime in the evenings. It seemed that the hotel could benefit from some simple upgrades to enhance the guest experience and bring it up to modern standards. In terms of value, Merlewood Hotel offered a decent accommodation option at a reasonable cost. the location, just a short walk from Saundersfoot, was convenient for exploring the area. However, the steep hill leading up to the hotel may pose a challenge for those with mobility issues. With some minor improvements, such as updating the room amenities and adding more dining options, the hotel has the potential to elevate its offering and provide a more luxurious experience for guests.
